Carol received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from San Diego State University in 1994. She received a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work with a concentration in Aging in 1997. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and has completed over 3,500 supervised hours.

During her career as a LCSW, she has worked as a Behavioral Health Therapist at Sharp Mesa Vista & Scripps Mercy Hospital's Intensive Outpatient Programs and as a Geriatric Care Manager at Age Concerns. She also volunteered at Vitas Hospice & the Alzheimer's Association.

Carol decided to take time off from doing therapy after the birth of her first child and is not doing therapy at this time. She eventually plans to have her own private practice.
